Hoops for fun is a youth basketball program created to develop fundamental skills and a love of the game of basketball. Players will maximize their potential though age appropriate skill development and game play.
The Hoops for Fun program is offered to girls and boys from SK - Grade 12. Each year we strive to accommodate separate divisions for boys and girls but depending upon registration divisions may be co-ed.
The program operates for all divisions one evening per week (Wednesday or Thursday - to be confirmed summer 2023) from the first week in November to the week prior to March Break. During the first 3 weeks of the Hoops for Fun program, players are evaluated by coaches at skills clinics to determine teams of equal skill level. In the 4th week, game play begins. Prior to each game 25-30 minutes is allotted for skill development followed by game play for approximately 30-35 minutes.
Program cost is $120/player, with an additional $20 fee for out of town players.
Each player receives:
1 Basketball to keep
1 Team T-shirt
For the 2023/2024 Season Games for all divisions will be played on Wednesday OR Thursday nights. Younger age divisions will typically have start times at 5pm or 6pm and the older age divisions (grade 5+) will typically have start times at 7pm or 8pm.
This year we will be using the Agriplex as well as the local Stratford school gyms for games and the skill clinics.

SK-4: Size 5 ball
Gr. 5-8: Size 6 ball
Highschool: Size 7 ball
NET HEIGHT:
SS-2: 8 feet net cross court
Gr. 3-4: 9 feet net full court
Gr. 5-12: 10 feet
